Welcome to Australia.  Australia is the sixth largest country in the world.  It's about the same size as the 48 mainland states of the USA and 50 per cent larger than Europe.  The current population is over 19 million people.

United States of America vs. Australia:  Australia is slightly larger than the United States minus Alaska, but with 10% of the population.  Actually, Australia feels like another version of the USA, especially the state of Texas. Everything has got to be big and space is not an issue. Even the city of Perth has been called the “Dallas of Australia”, Sydney the “New York of Australia”, and Melbourne the “Boston of Australia”.  (http://www.upfromaustralia.com/ausbigplacma.html)

During my three months here I plan on seeing the sights and taking many pictures of the beautiful land.  While here I will be staying in Geelong, Victoria.  Victoria resides in southeastern Australia off of the Pacific Ocean.  Geelong is a very beautiful city.  There are malls, shop's, excellent restaurants, and they even have palm trees here as well.  Click here for more info on Geelong, Vic.

Well I hope you enjoy my Australian web page and let me know what you think.  Please sign the Guest book.

(I watched The Simpson's while I was flying over the Pacific Ocean)

For my flight to Australia from Los Angeles I choose Qantas.  Qantas is a major airline that serves between Los Angeles and Melbourne, Australia.  The flight last for 15 hours and went from 11:30 at night till 8 in the morning on Sept. 3rd. Australian time.  Australia is 14 hours ahead of Eastern Standard time.  During my flight with Qantas we had LCD monitors in our seats which provided 6 movie channels, 6 Television channels, and a flight monitor which tracked the flight and provided up to date images of the flight.  And when we got bored of that, we had 10 different games to choose from.

When we arrived over Australia there were so many clouds.  As we got closer to Melbourne the clouds moved on and was much nicer to see the ground.

Australia has many rolling hills and valley's as shown here.  The plane is only minutes from Melbourne as we work our way down slowly.

Finally 15 hours later we arrive in Melbourne, Australia.  Melbourne is one of the biggest cities compared to Sydney.  I sure was very happy to finally get up and stretch after that flight.  Sitting for 15 hours straight and then finally walking off of the plane is like learning how to walk all over.
